Botanical medicines, bio-identical hormones, amino acids, and other medicines are available with a prescription from either Dr. Suber or another N.D. or M.D. supervising your care.
A Word About Quality
There is great variability in the quality of available herbs and supplements.
Some of the many factors that affect this quality are:
- purity and freshness of constituents,
- bio-availability of each ingredient and
- whether the supplement contains added fillers or binders.
When choosing which medicines to carry, Dr. Suber considers the following questions:
- Does the label provide accurate information about what is in the product and in what amounts?
- Are there any contaminants?
- How fresh are the ingredients? Have the raw materials been sitting around too long, losing their potency?
Since there is currently little regulation in these areas, it is up to individual herb and supplement manufacturer to test appropriately. While the most reputable companies do this testing, many do not invest in this level of quality.

Reputable companies ensure quality and are willing to provide copies of all data they have collected on any batch of their products. Ideally, third party verification is also done; an independent company performs tests on samples for authenticity, quantity, toxicity, and other factors.
